The non-profit Institute formerly known as the Alfred Mann Institute for Biomedical Development at Purdue University, Inc. (AMIPurdue) is now under sole oversight of the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF). The Alfred E. Mann Foundation for Biomedical Engineering (AEMFBE), formally an equal Member of the Institute along with PRF, has withdrawn their membership and funding beyond the next year.
The Institute is grateful for the $15.5 million in financial support provided by Alfred Mann. Those funds have supported the development of the Institute as well as 11 new Purdue technologies and the spinout of 4 startup companies in Indiana.

The mission to commercialize Purdue life science technologies by providing early-stage seed funding and business-related guidance to commercialize promising discoveries has not changed and will continue to be fulfilled under the leadership of John C. Hertig, the Executive Director and the efforts of the rest of the Institute’s team.
